Drone surveys before contractors enter a farm
This is potentially one of the most useful applications for landowners.

Can aerial and ground photography be combined?
Yes — and for condition reporting this can be particularly useful.
Neither perspective is perfect for everything.
Aerial imagery is excellent for:
Context and scale.
Ground-level imagery is excellent for:
Detail.
For example, an aerial photograph might clearly show the route contractors used through a farm.
A ground photograph might clearly show the existing condition of a gatepost at the beginning of that route.
Combining the two can create a more useful record than relying on either alone.
Can the same farm be surveyed again later?
Yes, and this is where condition reporting becomes particularly interesting.
A baseline survey records the farm at Time A.
A repeat survey records relevant areas at Time B.
The two records can then be compared.

How often should farmland be surveyed?
There isn't one correct schedule.
It depends entirely on why the land is being monitored.
A landowner might commission a survey:

- Before and after a particular project

- Every six months
- Annually
- At another interval appropriate to the site
For land where little changes, frequent surveys may offer limited value.

Can drones inspect an entire farm?
